It's been about five years since I've been to this place. I can tell it has gone through numerous management changes over the years. I came in for a quick lunch and had three plates of sushi. The waitress was really friendly and got me my drink of water right away. The sushi was actually pretty decent and fresh. I might have to come by here again sometime.

When I came in there was only a few people there and then all of a sudden it became pretty busy. So others might like this place too.

When I worked at The Sushi Factory by the Vancouver Mall there were was a COCKROACH INFESTATION. They constantly had people  spraying chemicals to get rid of them but it never worked. I saw them crawling under the sushi conveyor belt, up and down the walls... I would find them dead in pre made water cups for customers. And one horrific time a lady found a BABY COCKROACH IN THE MIDDLE OF HER SUSHI ROLL!!! Must have just crawled right on in from underneath the conveyor belt! IT WAS DISGUSTING.  The other workers would just try to kill them really fast before anyone saw them. NEVER EAT AT THE SUSHI FACTORY BY THE VANCOUVER MALL!! They still served food and acted like things were normal with cockroaches everywhere..  I quit a long time ago but I doubt they did anything else about it. It's been several years since I have worked there.. so I have no idea what has happened since. Good thing I reported them to the health inspectors  Who knows what happened though ‍

This used to be my favorite place to go for reasonably priced sushi. Unfortunately things have changed a lot since I first started going there. The prices went up and the food quality went down. A shame.

My review is not reflective of the sushi, only because I eat very basic veggie sushi (avocado and cucumber rolls and an assortment of such). I love shrimp also, so I come in and see a tempura shrimp roll with a little crab inside topped with avocado. Basically what I love. I grabbed the only 3 I could find on the belt and ate almost all of them. I couldn't find a picture of this roll on the menu am I saved the last bite to show the waitress.

Very long story short. I ordered two more. The original plates were orange. I was handed ONE plate. And it was blue. $.75 difference. No big deal. It's the principal though. He then proceeded to put 3 plates of the same roll on the belt with teriyaki drizzled on top.

And before you start to question if the blue plate had a double order like some places do, it didn't. Same amount of sushi. I grabbed the next 3 plates and ate them because that was the only roll appetizing to me. I'm really just writing this in hopes that the owners acknowledge this and make sure they stay consistent. I may not return because the chef rolled his eyes at me twice and consistency is key. Once when I ordered the sushi, another time when I wanted more spicy mayo.

I'm going to take it with a grain of salt and move on but I figured you should be warned, just in case it happens to you.

We showed up 30 minutes to closing, all staff was very friendly and accommodating, made some veggie rolls for us. English was not their first language but they were eager to communicate and make sure we had everything we needed. We had a GREAT fun time with them. The sushi was good, we talked about the ingredients and where they got them. We would definitely come back next time we are passing through.
